Our Mission

Progressive Health of Delaware will be at the forefront of primary care medicine, by using an evidence-based, collaborative, systematic approach. Our highest priority will always be our commitment to ensure the health, dignity, and quality of our patients' lives.

Deborah Zarek, MD, FACP

Dr. Zarek is a native of Los Osos, California. She graduated from George Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Christiana Care Health Center. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Her interests include preventive medicine, as well as a special interest in woman’s health. She was Chair of the Young Physician Section of the Medical Society of Delaware for 4 years and received the Delaware Young Physician of the Year award in 2007 "for her leadership and dedication to the medical profession in our state, and for her energy, enthusiasm, and vision in leading the Society's Young Physician Section since 2005". Dr. Zarek also served on the National Council of Young Physicians for the American College of Physicians from 2009 until 2012. In 2014, she received the Leonard P. Lange Award from the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Physicians. This annual award is given to honor an internist and Chapter member who "exemplifies in his or her personal and professional life the qualities of an outstanding internist". She is married to David Donohue, MD, FACP and has three children: Calvin (age 14), Maisie (age 11), and Audrey (age 9). When she is not working she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and running.

Jayshree Tailor, MD, FACP

Dr. Jayshree Tailor is a board-certified internist who recently joined Dr. Zarek and Dr. Donohue's practice. She is a current member of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Tailor graduated medical school in 1996 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas in 1999. Since then she has had a broad range of experiences practicing medicine. She initially started her career training residents and teaching medical students at Baylor College of Medicine. Subsequently, she moved to Connecticut to be with her husband and worked in private practice in West Haven. In Delaware, Dr. Tailor started working as a hospitalist at Christiana Hospital and then worked in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wimington Hospital supervising residents in their outpatient clinic. Outside of work Dr. Tailor enjoys spending time with her family, learning the guitar, and reading.

David Donohue, MD FACP

Dave Donohue is a board-certified internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is the husband of Dr. Zarek and a medical school classmate of Dr. Tailor.

He also works full-time in computers. He graduated from Brandywine High School and then attended Rice University. He received a MS in Molecular Biology from Stanford University. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1997, and completed his residency in primary care Internal Medicine at George Washington University, in 2000.

Dr. Donohue's medical focuses include men's health, elder health, preventative health, weight loss, and longevity. His philosophy is that you are the boss, whereas his role is to be the objective medical advisor. Dr. Donohue has given talks in the community about the U.S. health care system, public health, lifestyle, and longevity. 

Ashley Kontra, PA-C

Ashley Kontra is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Physician Assistant Program. During her studies she served as class historian and graduated cum laude. Before studying to become a physician assistant, Ashley attended Lock Haven University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences. Her special interests within primary care include dermatology, weight loss, and helping those with special needs. Ashley is a current resident of Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Lancaster, PA. While not at the office, she enjoys exploring Philly, photography, and the arts. Her goal is to make every healthcare visit a positive and comfortable experience that motivates her patients to strive for wellness.

Kacie Campbell, PA-C


Kacie Campbell is a graduate of Lock Haven University’s Physician Assistant Program. Before beginning her Physician Assistant studies, she received an undergraduate degree in Biology and played field hockey at the University of Delaware. She currently resides in Philadelphia and is originally from Hershey, PA.  Outside of the office, Kacie loves to try new fitness classes, experiment with cooking and baking, and is a fan of all sports. As a healthcare provider, she places great value on the patient-provider relationship and aims to build an environment of trust and compassion.

Korie Alecxih, PA-C


Korie Alecxih is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's physician assistant program. Before beginning her PA studies, she studied kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University. Between undergraduate and graduate school, she worked at CHOP as a scribe in the emergency department. She currently resides in Philadelphia, PA and is originally from Medford, NJ. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, skiing, horseback riding, and anything outdoors!
